"Bravery is being the only one who knows you're afraid." ~ Franklin P. JonesI never used to show people that I'm afraid or sad or disappointed... Though my face reveals it very easily, I usually keep my mouth tightly shut about such kinda feelings. I believed what Franklin P. Jones believed - the lie that bravery is not showing your feelings to people around you. But I no longer believe that and I actually disagree with Mr. Jones about it. There are lots of things one can write about bravery, courage and fearlessness, but why bother, when many amazingly wise people have written it down already with their great command of the language, immortalizing their words forever? :)
These are some great quotes I found in the World Wide Web:
"Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgement that something else is more important than fear." ~Ambrose Redmoon

"Sometimes even to live is an act of courage." ~Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Letters to Lucilius
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear. Except a creature be part coward it is not a compliment to say it is brave." ~Mark Twain, Pudd'nhead Wilson's Calendar, 1894

"Courage is doing what you're afraid to do. There can be no courage unless you're scared." ~Edward Vernon Rickenbacker

"I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand.
