On behalf of everyone in the team, I would like to congratulate everyone in the team for successfully passing their higher secondary and oh, yeah... Special congrats to Naveena, Soma Sundari, Vidya and Anandavalli for doing the same with distinction. So now, it's goodbye school and hellooooo world!! :D

As our authors are suffering from the post-exams syndrome and are hunting down colleges with almost murderous rage [a.k.a 'kolaveri'], anyone who happens to stumble across this blog, please note that the blog work is being put on a hold for the time being and will be continued once all of us burst into some college and finally settle down.

 Just returned from my School's Independence Day celebrations... Was a beautiful thing to watch all the little girls and boys sing, dance and whatnot. Only wish they knew the real meaning and depth of the things they just did.

Anyways, Happy Independence Day everyone!! Another year is born in the life of Independent India, and let's celebrate this day... 'Cause Independence is not just a big word thrown out by big men who think they've conquered the world... Let's not take our freedom for granted... And cherish it every moment we breathe on Indian soil. Jai Hind! :)

The History

The history of India is so enchanting, when one really gets down to study it. Right from the ancient Harappan Civilzation to the medieval kings, India's rich history always is mind-boggling. The India from the second millenium BC  to the fifteenth century AD has always been a wonder to travellers.

It's the world's largest, oldest, continuous civilization. India never invaded any country in her last 10000 years of history. Varanasi, also known as Benares, was called "the ancient city" when Lord Buddha visited it in 500 B.C.E, and is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world today. India invented the Number System. Zero was invented by Aryabhatta. The World's first university was established in Takshashila in 700BC. More than 10,500 students from all over the world studied more than 60 subjects. The University of Nalanda built in the 4th century BC was one of the greatest achievements of ancient India in the field of education. Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to humans. Charaka, the father of medicine consolidated Ayurveda 2500 years ago.

I sometimes used to wonder at my mother getting up at 5.am without any alarm.But I later came to know that there is a part of our brain that controls wake and sleep pattern.See that it does not get disturbed.If you are a late sleeper or an early riser continue it.If you disturb your sleep cycle you will always feel drowsy besides reducing your efficiency.

The Casus Belli for Teenage Rebellion

‘Rebellion' is one of the first words that come to my mind when I think about teenage. Rebellious teens are some serious business and the way their parents treat them can really influence their efficiency in academics or other such activities... not to mention their personality and future. Here, I'm not really going to talk about how teenagers should be treated, because technically, I'm a teenager. So, I'm bound to advice all the parents out there to pamper their children, rather than give a reasonable solution. So, I'd rather restrict myself to simply pointing out some reasons for the rebellion, which will hopefully help in understanding the way teenagers' minds work.

Reasonable & Unreasonable Parents

There are the parents who are too strict with their rules. In order not to pamper their kids, they establish something short of a dictatorial reign at home. They become too controlling, too interfering and also unreasonable in their punishments and rebukes. But this is not really the case with most parents.

AWARENESS

The JNMA is a group, or more appropriately, an organisation which aspires to do things, both naughty and nice. While the naughty part may not require much planning or decision-making processes, the nice part does. The nice part involves services to the society, friends and the country. It is essential that before we proceed to serve, we must be fully aware of the situation. Otherwise, the situation may go from bad to worse. To illustrate this fact, let me tell a small story that I once read in the internet: There was once a monkey living on a tree beside a lake. One day, it noticed a fish in the lake. Seeing the fish, the monkey felt pity for the poor thing and took it out of the water and put it on a branch of his tree, saying, “I’ll save you from drowning!” To make sure we don’t act like that monkey, awareness is essential. We need to know the problems entirely, before we take further steps to solve it. We also need a means for expressing our views, and that is what this blog aims to do.
