Proud to be the Changers

Many of my school mates would say "Isn't this a silly thing what you're doing now, because it wastes much time in your busy schedule''. And many of them would laugh at us when we do these things. Usually my sister would scold me and she would tease me about this, when we get involved in the awareness programs. But I usually say that we are doing something new which you guys have never done or seen in your life. This is what we want, to change something which brings change. Whether it is a small area or not it doesn't matter... It only matters that we small guys have brought a change to an area. PROUD TO BE THE CHANGERS.

Sleep Schedule

MIND YOUR SLEEP SCHEDULE

I sometimes used to wonder at my mother getting up at 5.am without any alarm. But I later came to know that there is a part of our brain that controls wake and sleep pattern.See that it does not get disturbed. If you are a late sleeper or an early riser continue it.If you disturb your sleep cycle you will always feel drowsy besides reducing your efficiency.

My Republic Day Speech

I could have spoken about the grandeur of the celebrations and such things, but this is more about what I believe is important for us to do to make sure we are doing our bit for the nation.

61 years ago, on this very day, the supreme law of our land, the constitution of India came into force and India became a democratic republic. 26th January is definitely a day when we remember how thousands of people fought against repression and tyranny to win freedom, this freedom on which the edifice of our constitution currently stands. This is surely a day when we remind ourselves about the hopes and dreams with which this document came into force as the fundamental law of our land. But it’s not quite enough if we see the significance of this day only from the historical perspective. Every red letter day that we commemorate has to be seen from the light of the past, present and the future, because every red letter day not only reminds us about the history. but also enlightens us about the present and inspires us for the future.

Our New Year Greeting to Irom Sharmila :)

Almost forgot to mention it here...We sent a New Year Card to Miss Sharmila, inspired by a comment to an address in Imphal:

Since the words aren't legible in the photo,  so I typed them down before sending it to Imphal so that I can share them :) :

The Casus Belli for Teenage Rebellion

‘Rebellion' is one of the first words that come to my mind when I think about teenage. Rebellious teens are some serious business and the way their parents treat them can really influence their efficiency in academics or other such activities... not to mention their personality and future. Here, I'm not really going to talk about how teenagers should be treated, because technically, I'm a teenager. So, I'm bound to advice all the parents out there to pamper their children, rather than give a reasonable solution. So, I'd rather restrict myself to simply pointing out some reasons for the rebellion, which will hopefully help in understanding the way teenagers' minds work.

Reasonable & Unreasonable Parents

There are the parents who are too strict with their rules. In order not to pamper their kids, they establish something short of a dictatorial reign at home. They become too controlling, too interfering and also unreasonable in their punishments and rebukes. But this is not really the case with most parents.

Our Cities are in a Mess

I was recently in Chennai and at first, I was so excited about the malls, the hotels, the government buildings and so many other stuff you usually in see in these great, big, developed cities. But it didn’t really take me long to realize how our cities were, in fact, in a mess. From just the terrace of a building, I could see so many things as proof.

Some distance away, there was a huge gray cloud rising above some scrubs. It was probably because of some people trying to burn away their garbage. But I couldn’t imagine what it would be like for the houses nearby. It definitely wouldn’t be healthy for the atmosphere, that I’m sure of. Then looking down, I saw this great pile of garbage spreading for about twenty yards or so, right next to the compound. Probably, a convenient dumping ground for all the neighborhood garbage.
