English Teacher: Not really ...and yeah Cos he got us freedom

Meenakshi Rcm: but then y d u hate godse becos he was too late?

English Teacher: had he killed gandhi earlier we may ve never got freedom. De best thing tat could ve happened to india:)

HUMAN POPULATION AND EXPLOSION - ISSUES

The World population was only a few million people before the invention of agriculture and the domestication of animals. The following shows the alarming rate at which population has increased. It has been calculated that the human population is growing at a rate of 90 million per year. At this rate the population would reach 12.5 billion by the year 2050. If the population keeps going at this rate, after a few decades it will perhaps be too large for to be supported by limited resources available on the Earth. The rapid growth will affect living standards, resource use and the environment all over the world .

The History

The history of India is so enchanting, when one really gets down to study it. Right from the ancient Harappan Civilzation to the medieval kings, India's rich history always is mind-boggling. The India from the second millenium BC  to the fifteenth century AD has always been a wonder to travellers.

It's the world's largest, oldest, continuous civilization. India never invaded any country in her last 10000 years of history. Varanasi, also known as Benares, was called "the ancient city" when Lord Buddha visited it in 500 B.C.E, and is the oldest, continuously inhabited city in the world today. India invented the Number System. Zero was invented by Aryabhatta. The World's first university was established in Takshashila in 700BC. More than 10,500 students from all over the world studied more than 60 subjects. The University of Nalanda built in the 4th century BC was one of the greatest achievements of ancient India in the field of education. Ayurveda is the earliest school of medicine known to humans. Charaka, the father of medicine consolidated Ayurveda 2500 years ago.

Life => Is it Fair for the Producers?

There are so many things in this world which are so obvious and yet when stated in some clear grammatical-mistake-free manner, sound like absolute pearls of wisdom dropped from heaven. Take this quote for instance:

"A bird doesn't sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song." ~ Maya Angelou

The meaning is quite clear - Just because someone says or talks about something, it doesn't necessarily have to mean that they have the solution for it. Imagine if it is given in the latter form, where the language is bland and uninspiring compared to the first. No one would record it as anything worth listening to. Like Anton Chekov said, anything [especially truth] has to be gilded like pills and has to be sugercoated, because man has gotten used to believing that the truth is always beautiful and that medicine must be sweet. That's why in today's world, it's just as important to promote a product as it is to create it.

A Day with Our VII Std Friends

This academic year had been absolutely amazing for the ten of us, but no day has been as awesome as the 11th of February, 2011. It was a beautiful Friday morning and we had an exam in a few minutes, but that was hardly what we were thinking about. Our minds were buzzing and hearts beating pretty fast, for we were about to do something so different, something we had wanted to do for a long time. We were about to handle 5 value education classes for our friends of the 7th, with two of us for each class. Our aims were simple: Share our views and beliefs, and make a difference that way. Normally it would have been an easy task to do, but this wasn’t exactly like the normal interactive classes. We were going to talk about patriotism and awareness, and all of us know what these words sound like, coming from someone else. The greatest challenge of all in such cases is to make it both interesting and effective.

Proud to be the Changers

Many of my school mates would say "Isn't this a silly thing what you're doing now, because it wastes much time in your busy schedule''. And many of them would laugh at us when we do these things. Usually my sister would scold me and she would tease me about this, when we get involved in the awareness programs. But I usually say that we are doing something new which you guys have never done or seen in your life. This is what we want, to change something which brings change. Whether it is a small area or not it doesn't matter... It only matters that we small guys have brought a change to an area. PROUD TO BE THE CHANGERS.

I sometimes used to wonder at my mother getting up at 5.am without any alarm.But I later came to know that there is a part of our brain that controls wake and sleep pattern.See that it does not get disturbed.If you are a late sleeper or an early riser continue it.If you disturb your sleep cycle you will always feel drowsy besides reducing your efficiency.

My Republic Day Speech

I could have spoken about the grandeur of the celebrations and such things, but this is more about what I believe is important for us to do to make sure we are doing our bit for the nation.

61 years ago, on this very day, the supreme law of our land, the constitution of India came into force and India became a democratic republic. 26th January is definitely a day when we remember how thousands of people fought against repression and tyranny to win freedom, this freedom on which the edifice of our constitution currently stands. This is surely a day when we remind ourselves about the hopes and dreams with which this document came into force as the fundamental law of our land. But it’s not quite enough if we see the significance of this day only from the historical perspective. Every red letter day that we commemorate has to be seen from the light of the past, present and the future, because every red letter day not only reminds us about the history. but also enlightens us about the present and inspires us for the future.
